World Series of MLB: St. Louis Cardinals for the 8th time champion
The St. Louis Cardinals are eleventh time champions of the American Baseball Major League Baseball (MLB). The Cardinals won on Friday evening (local time) the seventh and decisive game at home against the Texas Rangers 6:2 and thus the final series' best-of-seven "4-3.
The Rangers, after the fifth game still had the overall standings with a 3-2 quoted, on the other hand again settle for the runner-up - already failed last year, the team from the Dallas metropolitan area in the finals of the San Francisco Giants (1:4).
Although the hosts fell right in the first inning 0-2 behind, but St. Louis' David Freese hit back in the same passage with a double - Albert Pujols and Lance Berkman reached the home plate for one point each.
The decision was in the fifth inning: Due to two errors by Texas pitcher Scott Feldman and to substitute for him Christopher John Wilson got Yadier Molina and Rafael Furcal with two walks, each of which resulted in points for the Cardinals.
