Ivian Sarcos: Venezuelan woman is Miss World 2011



In the 60th Edition of the "Miss World" won the 22-year-old Ivian Lunasol Sarcos Colmenares.

As it should be, tears flowed at the end: The Venezuelan Ivian Lunasol Sarcos Colmenares (22) wept with joy when she received Sunday evening in London, placed the crown as "Miss World 2011". The young woman from Venezuela had prevailed before Gwendoline Ruais of the Philippines and Puerto Rican Amanda Perez.



The 21-year-old Sabrina Reitz from Germany had not made it to the finals.

Competed with over 120 participants this year a record number of countries for the title of "Miss World". The beauty pageant is one year according to the organizers of the most watched TV events. World therefore look more than a billion people in 170 countries.

The ceremony came to her 60-year anniversary back to their roots: On 29 July 1951, the Swede named Kerstin (Kiki) Hakansson in London for the first "Miss World".

On the edge of the final women's protest against the beauty parade. The London Feminist Network spoke of a "repulsive crime against the equality of women." Contrast, defended the "Miss England 2008", Laura Coleman, the competition. The critics did not understand that the "Miss World" collect so much money and do good.
