Owens attempted suicide, says his agent

A representative from Terrell Owens said Thursday that the player "absolutely not" attempted suicide or suffered an overdose of pills in early October. In a statement, publicist Diana Bianchini said an aide came to Owen's house on October 6 after he had taken something to sleep.

The assistant did not realize that, got worried and called the emergency number 911. Bianchini added that when the police arrived, Owens had already reacted. Bianchini said that "reports released to the emergency call are misleading and do not stick to the facts.". Owens came out in 2006 made headlines for what police initially considered a suicide attempt but was later described as an "accidental overdose" of prescription drug.

The 37-year wide receiver is a free agent and has been rehabbing a left knee injury that required surgery. He played 14 games for Cincinnati last season and made 72 receptions and nine touchdowns. Owens held an open training session on Tuesday, which was observed by two television channels but not by NFL teams.
